4th and Inches
Power Play Football is a fantasy football game in which you draft NFL players, make trades with other GMs in your league, acquire free agents, submit lineups and guide your team throughout a full season of head-to-head games against other owners in your league. Results are based upon the weekly performance of NFL players. Power Play Fantasy Football uses a wide variety of statistics to calculate a player's total contribution, whether it is positive or negative to your game. It is frustrating to have a player gain 99 yards and have no score because of the lack of 1 yard.
Power Play Football Leagues consist of 12 teams divided into two 6-team divisions. The regular season is fourteen weeks long with a two week playoff format of the two division winners and two wild-card teams possessing the best records in the league, regardless of division. This makes the regular season mean more than just a formality and still allows a 33% participation in the playoffs. A 16 week season eliminates the dreaded week 17 of the regular season which is a week of football that is typified by partial play and no shows by players on playoff teams.
Enjoy fantasy sports to the fullest by monitoring
your fantasy team Live during pro games. Your scores are updated in
real-time as the plays happen. You can even monitor the other fantasy
teams in your league Live. Nothing comes closer to making your fantasy a
reality.
Power Play Dynasty Prize Leagues offer cash prizes,
not tee shirts or trophies. All costs are included in the franchise fee.
Power Play has one of the best on average percentage (70%)
of coaches winning a prize in pay leagues. Our philosophy is to have a
larger share of weekly prizes instead of a winner take all or large
championship prizes. GMs only have to compete against 11 other GMs for
these weekly prizes. This allows teams that have a good record or
good weekly scores and do not make the playoffs to have a chance of
winning a prize . Power PlayFantasy Football offers
a challenging alternative to national contests where GMs make their trades
with a computer and every owner can have the same super star. National
contests offer large cash prizes, but when you are competing against
thousands of owners, there is a very slim chance to win a prize.
Dynasty Leagues
Dynasty leagues are the more challenging and intriguing type of fantasy leagues.
The intriguing part takes place in the opening
draft when the owner has to choose between talented veterans and rookies
to build a team to win now and for the future as well. The challenging
aspect occurs when you need to upgrade your team each year through the
rookie/free agent draft and trades.
Dynasty leagues offer fantasy GMs the most NFL-like experience to building and running a team. Like NFL squads, dynasty owners must answer a persistent dilemma before every decision: weighing the present vs. the future. Its important to keep in mind the enormous difference between keeper leagues and dynasty leagues. In dynasty leagues, once you own a player, he is yours for as long as you wish. Hell remain on your roster until you release or trade him. After one initial draft, the only annual draft is the rookie draft. This quality makes dynasty leagues more like the NFL. They are a lot more interesting because of the amount of franchise building that takes place. In a perfect world, a dynasty league owner would follow the model of the Patriots and Eagles. They consistently win, yet always maneuver with an eye on the future. They stockpile draft picks. They give up on players just before they precipitously decline. Most importantly, they evaluate player ability better well. That is the juggling act a successful dynasty league owner must attempt. At least we dont have to deal with a salary cap. The present vs. future debate is always played outwith decision making. Obviously Brett Favre is a more valuable fantasy QB than Eli Manning or Phillip Rivers for next season. But for how much longer? And how much heavier do you weigh 2005 than 2007? There is no right answer, and so much depends on your personnel, confidence in trading, and how your draft is going. A coach has to attempt to strike a balance between present and future worth, and obviously be mindful of longevity. Some of you will value uncertain youth less, some more. Thats the beauty of dynasty leagues. No two owners build their franchise the same way and there is no right way to do it.
Live or Automated Draft
You can draft LIVE with the rest of your league in a state-of-the-art live draft room. In the draft room, you can see who's been drafted, the remaining players at each position, up-to-the-minute fantasy team rosters; and you can rank players, queue up players, chat live with other team owners and, of course, draft players for your team. You can join a league by yourself and we will place you in a league with 11 other teams. You may also join with friends and be in the same league. If you join as a full league you can use our draft room or hold your own draft and send in your team rosters. Full leagues can be up to 30 teams with your own roster limits and scoring system.
